Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan engages in discussions with Azerbaijan's leading banks
Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan recently participated in an International Conference in Baku, where representatives from major financial organizations and export credit agencies gathered to discuss trade finance issues in the evolving global economy.
Armana Bekbasova, the Director of the International Cooperation Department at Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan, showcased the company's capabilities for collaborating with foreign ECAs. She highlighted the Agency's expertise and market knowledge, demonstrating a willingness to engage in joint projects, particularly in Central Asia.
Key areas of cooperation with foreign partners on projects in Kazakhstan were identified during the conference:
- Insurance and reinsurance of export loans for the supply of technology and equipment for export-oriented production in Kazakhstan.
- Risk-sharing with foreign ECAs for exporting Kazakhstani production facilities, involving foreign capital, technology, and equipment.
- Insurance of investment risks for financing projects and establishing export-oriented sites in Kazakhstan.
While in Baku, Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan conducted meetings with the top three banks in Azerbaijan – Kapital Bank, Pasha Bank, Bank of Baku, and Xalq Bank. Discussions revolved around potential projects in trade financing, such as the issuance of import letters of credit by Azerbaijani banks to Kazakhstani exporters, with insurance and financing provided by the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan. Additionally, representatives from the Agency met with Azerbaijani railway companies to discuss supplying Kazakhstani electric locomotives (Alstom) and locomotives (Wabtec).
