Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan Participated in the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit
JSC "Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan" (ECA) participated in the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2026, held on September 22–23 in New York.
Organized as part of the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly, the forum convened over 750 business leaders from major international corporations, government officials, development institutions, investors, and global experts. The central theme of the summit was "Driving Sustainable Growth and Resilience."
The Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan joined the UN Global Compact in 2017 and has consistently integrated sustainable development principles into its operations. Participating in this year's summit enables the agency to adapt global ESG standards to its Kazakhstani non-resource export support instruments, expand public-private partnerships, and strengthen Kazakhstan's position in global value chains.
During the two-day program, delegates examined practical mechanisms to transition from corporate pledges to concrete, measurable outcomes. Special emphasis was placed on sustainable and blended finance, the climate agenda, investment risk mitigation, responsible procurement, and embedding artificial intelligence solutions into corporate governance.
In plenary and working sessions, ECA held several strategic meetings with international partners and experts to discuss attracting green and catalytic capital, establishing due diligence protocols, and supporting domestic exporters in entering environmentally regulated global markets.
Furthermore, on the sidelines of the Summit, the UN Global Compact unveiled its Strategy for 2026–2030 and announced an initiative to build a unified international engagement infrastructure for 2027. This framework will cover key areas: climate transition, sustainable finance, gender equality, and decent work.
ECA's involvement in the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative reinforces Kazakhstan's commitment to responsible business practices, ESG transformation across the financial sector, and the promotion of competitive Kazakhstani exports on the global stage.
