Annual Meeting of EAEU Export Credit Agencies Held in Bishkek
Representatives of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA) participated in the annual meeting of heads of export credit agencies from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states. The event took place at the State Insurance Organization in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting focused on export credit insurance and reinsurance within the EAEU, as well as the search for practical solutions and strategic development guidelines amidst modern challenges.
As part of the business program, participants reviewed the past year's performance and presented strategic plans for future development. Special attention was paid to the implementation of digital technologies aimed at optimizing business processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving service quality for exporters.
Furthermore, the parties held detailed discussions on current issues arising at both local and global levels, devising ways to improve support measures. A specific segment of the agenda addressed the development of insurance and reinsurance cooperation, the updating of underwriting methodologies and tariff policies, the refinement of regulatory frameworks for export risks, and mechanisms for claims settlement and subrogation.
The meeting concluded with the formulation of recommendations to enhance the efficiency of ECAs and strengthen their role in facilitating international trade.
EAEU development institutions hold such meetings regularly to exchange best practices and coordinate joint plans regarding insurance and reinsurance. A similar event was previously held in Astana in 2023. Note: In 2025, Kazakhstan’s Export Credit Agency provided support to over 120 exporters, totaling more than KZT 653.7 billion (covering a total of 535 contracts). The aggregate economic impact exceeded KZT 2 trillion.
