The Export Credit Agency is expanding cooperation with global reinsurance leaders
JSC “Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan” (ECA), a subsidiary of the Baiterek Holding, has entered into its first outbound obligatory reinsurance agreement with the German group Hannover Re, one of the world’s leading reinsurance companies. For ECA, this marks its first experience of cooperation with this reinsurance group in such a format.
Hannover Re joined the reinsurance slip together with Swiss Re, with which the Agency has been building a long-term partnership since 2021. The consistent expansion of the circle of highly rated international partners enables ECA to effectively diversify risks and strengthen the financial stability of its insurance portfolio.
The involvement of Hannover Re represents an important milestone in the development of the risk management system and reflects the growing interest of global players in Kazakhstan’s export portfolio. Additional reinsurance support allows the Agency to increase insurance coverage volumes, reduce risk concentration, and enhance capacity for key instruments, including loan insurance, export credit insurance, and trade finance. ECA continues its systematic integration into the international reinsurance market to ensure stable and scalable support for domestic exporters in foreign markets.
