ECA participated in the Interregional Forum “Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan”

JSC “Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan” (ECA) presented its support instruments at the Interregional Business Forum “Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan,” held in Tashkent.

The event served as a key platform for deepening bilateral relations, discussing cooperation prospects, and exchanging best practices among representatives of government bodies, industry associations, and business communities from both countries.

The forum was organized with the support of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over 100 representatives from ministries, agencies, and leading companies participated. Participants, including producers from sectors with high export potential (food, chemical, light industry, agro-industrial complex, metallurgy, petrochemicals), focused on developing interregional cooperation, stimulating mutual trade, and establishing joint ventures.

During plenary sessions and meetings, the economic and investment potential of both countries was presented, and new cooperation directions were discussed in strategically important areas such as industry, agriculture, construction, and services.

Special attention was given to the development of joint ventures, export promotion, and the formation of sustainable production and supply chains.

At the panel session, ECA’s Regional Director in Uzbekistan, Alisher Khakimov, presented the agency’s export support instruments, including the trade finance mechanism. This tool provides foreign buyers with financing to purchase Kazakhstani products through domestic banks using a letter-of-credit payment method. This stimulates external demand for Kazakhstani goods and services.

In his speech, A. Khakimov noted that in 2025, the volume of export deals supported by ECA in the Uzbek market exceeded 120 billion tenge.

“Uzbekistan is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners, accounting for about 37% of the total volume of export contracts supported by the agency,” he said.

According to data for January–September 2025, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to USD 3.5 billion, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year. Uzbekistan’s exports to Kazakhstan reached USD 1.1 billion, up 7%.

Currently, 1,157 Kazakhstani enterprises operate in Uzbekistan, including 876 companies with 100% Kazakhstani ownership and 281 joint ventures.
