New Opportunities for Kazakhstani Business: Results of Kazakhstan-BeNeLux Talks
Kazakhstan and BeNeLux parties had roundtable discussions regarding opportunities to expand trade turnover on the platform of Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU), Astana. The event was attended by representatives of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan JSC (ECA). The other participants included the heads of the BeNeLux Region Chamber of Commerce, Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce, as well as representatives of the Belgian Embassy, Ministry of Trade and Integration, QazTrade, IGK, MNU and the business sector.
This event took part in anticipation of the upcoming multi-sector trade mission of Kazakhstan to Belgium to be held on June 4-5. As part of the program, the Third Meeting of the Belgium-Kazakhstan Business Council will be held in Brussels on June 4.
The purpose of the event was to discuss possible measures to increase trade turnover between Kazakhstan and EU countries, in particular the BeNeLux region, as well as to identify the prospects for the development of Kazakhstan’s non-resource exports.
The event paid special attention to coordination between entrepreneurs, Chambers of Commerce and Industry and insurance companies with the aim to support export.
“Export Credit Association (ECA) has all the necessary resources to enhance exports of local products to Europe. We are ready to support exporters through ECA financial and insurance instruments to expand markets to the BeNeLux countries. Our goal is to create more comfortable and safe conditions for cooperation between partners from our countries,” Aizhan Akhmetalimova, Director of Trade Finance and Subsidy Department said.
During the panel session, Aizhan Akhmetalimova presented ECA opportunities for trade and economic relations development between Kazakhstan and BeNeLux countries.
At the end of the meeting, the participants summarized the results of the current joint projects and identified plans aimed at increasing the volume of joint investments and trade turnover. The parties emphasized the significance of introducing state-of-the art technologies and best practices in infrastructure, logistics, agro-industrial complex, as well as projects aimed at developing IT products.
This event explores new horizons for Kazakhstani business and strengthens its position as a reliable partner in the BeNeLux region and the EU.
