Kazakhstan strengthens its position in the field of export crediting on the OECD platform ECA at the OECD: a course towards the development of "green" exports and international partnership

Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan JSC (ECA) Ayan Bektybayeva participated in the Meeting of the OECD Working Group on Export Credits in Paris.

The forum served as a platform for discussing key issues in the field of export crediting. In particular, participants focused on the growing markets of developing countries, exploring opportunities to expand trade relations, enhance support mechanisms, and assess potential challenges and opportunities in the current geopolitical environment.  Experts highlighted essential aspects for fostering cooperation, including the history of external debt servicing, fiscal policy stability, and business transparency. According to experts, Kazakhstan has high growth potential, making the region attractive to investors.

During the forum, experts exchanged insights to enhance international integration, optimize support mechanisms, and develop effective strategies for managing financial institution portfolios.

In conclusion, on the OECD platform, the Kazakh delegation held a series of important meetings and discussions with key experts, including Professor of International Business at Brunel University London and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, Andreas Klasen; Managing Director of the Berne Union, Eva Hall; and Director of the OECD Division, Silvia Gavornikova.

During these meetings, the following issues were discussed:

  • opportunities for creating a "green" product to support Kazakhstan's decarbonization strategy;
  • strengthening cooperation with financial institutions of OECD countries;
  • the impact of insurance ratings on the pricing of provided loans.

Kazakhstan's presence on international platforms provides swift access to innovations, enables an understanding of expert perspectives, and facilitates the implementation of modern solutions to support exporters.
