Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan takes part at the SDG Pioneers Award ceremony
The first-ever SDG Pioneers Award ceremony in Kazakhstan took place in Almaty. Established nine years ago as part of the UN Global Compact, this award recognizes businesses making significant contributions to the sustainable development of the Central Asian region.
The SDG Pioneers initiative aims to promote corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, encouraging businesses to align their strategies with UN goals in ecology, human rights protection, and social well-being.
Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan, a member of the UN Global Compact, participated in the event.
"The concept of sustainable development may seem ambitious to some, as not everyone fully grasps its significance. Essentially, it involves aligning business management strategies with global objectives, such as environmental protection and social well-being. This concept also encompasses the idea of counterparties, which refers to key stakeholders in business operations whose interests must be prioritized," noted the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan.
Companies that join the Global Compact commit to ten principles of sustainable development covering human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and more. This commitment enhances the company's value and boosts its financial performance in the long run.
Presently, the UN Global Compact unites over 20,000 companies from 160 countries. Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan officially joined this group on December 18, 2017.
Adhering to principles of transparency and ethics, Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan recognizes its impact on the economy, society, and environment. It follows the UN Global Compact principles in human rights, labor relations, anti-corruption, and environmental protection.
