Holding "Baiterek" strengthens business ties with Spain
The delegation of the "Baiterek" Holding, led by Deputy Chairman of the Board Timur Onzhanov, visited Spain on a working trip and took part in the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Spain Business Council.
During the meeting, prospects for deepening economic cooperation were discussed. Timur Onzhanov emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership.
— Today, we stand on the threshold of new opportunities for cooperation in key areas such as investment, innovation, infrastructure development, and sustainable economic growth. Spanish businesses have strong prospects for entering the Kazakhstani market by leveraging their potential in tourism, mechanical engineering, light industry, energy, and construction. These sectors highlight our mutual strengths and align with the strategic goals of both countries regarding economic diversification, — he said.
During the visit, key agreements were signed:

Agreement between the Holding and XcaliburSmartMapping on the establishment of a regional center for aerogeophysics and geospatial mapping in Kazakhstan, which will enable the implementation of advanced technologies in geological exploration and attract additional investments.

JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" and Banco Santander signed a framework agreement to attract up to €400 million for financing infrastructure and energy projects.

CESCE and JSC "Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan" signed a memorandum of cooperation on export risk management and promotion of bilateral trade.
Negotiations were also held with Spain’s Secretary of State, María Amparo López Senovilla, during which the development of industry, energy, and innovation was discussed.
Additionally, the delegation met with representatives from Banco Santander, Inditex, Pascual Calidad, Barceló Hotel Group, Ávoris, Xcalibur, Parque Tecnológico de Valdemingómez, and Innovaciones Imabe S.L.U. During the talks, potential areas of cooperation in investment and technology were explored.
The working visit concluded with agreements on further developing the partnership, which will open new opportunities for implementing major economic initiatives and strengthening long-term ties between Kazakhstan and Spain.
