President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Rustam Karagoshin, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NUH Baiterek."
The Head of State received a report on the results of the holding company’s performance in 2024 and its plans for the current year.
It was noted that in 2024, the volume of support provided by the holding amounted to approximately 6 trillion tenge. Of this amount, 4.1 trillion tenge was allocated to support large, medium, and small businesses, while 1.9 trillion tenge was directed to the housing and construction sector.
The President was informed that by the end of the reporting year, the holding’s assets reached 14.1 trillion tenge. The investment and credit portfolios increased to 10.3 trillion tenge, and net profit amounted to 416 billion tenge. According to Rustam Karagoshin, these funds are planned to be used to implement support programs within the holding group.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also presented with information about the launch of two guarantee funds under JSC “FRP Damu.” The first fund is aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses. The second fund focuses on financing large projects costing over 7 billion tenge.
In addition, the Head of State was informed about the launch of several initiatives to attract direct foreign investment, including joint funds with foreign partners in the agricultural, manufacturing, and mining and metallurgical sectors. These funds are being established within the jurisdiction of the Astana International Financial Centre.
The President emphasized the importance of implementing the presented initiatives for the country’s sustainable economic growth. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Baiterek holding, together with second-tier banks, to ensure financing of the real economy sector and to work on attracting funds for the implementation of the National Project on modernization of the energy and utilities sectors. The Head of State specially stressed the necessity of effective execution of the planned objectives.
