According to preliminary data, the volume of support provided to Kazakhstani exporters by KazakhExport, a subsidiary of the Baiterek National Managing Holding, reached a record 337.4 billion tenge in 2024, with the overall economic impact amounting to 1.8 trillion tenge.
Export pre-financing and trade financing totaled 30.2 billion tenge, marking significant growth.
In 2024, 96 exporters received support from KazakhExport, including 15 new clients. A total of 488 export contracts were backed. Notably, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for 78% of supported exporters.
Key export destinations included Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, China, the UAE, Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Turkey, Mongolia, Estonia, Singapore, and others.
Kazakhstan's major exports comprised food products, metal goods, and agricultural commodities. Machinery, construction materials, and products from the chemical, glass, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries were also in high demand abroad.
Among the regions, Karaganda Region led in export support, accounting for 58.4% of the total and receiving 197 billion tenge. It was followed by Kostanay Region (30.9 billion tenge) and Almaty Region (25.5 billion tenge).
“Our key objectives include increasing the volume of export support, developing digital services, and launching new products. We aim to double the insurance volume to 1.2 trillion tenge in the coming years. In collaboration with second-tier banks, we are also developing a portfolio insurance product specifically for small businesses to ease access to financing,”
said Allen Chaizhunusov, Chairman of the Management Board of KazakhExport.“We also provide practical support to exporters by expanding the geography of their operations in both traditional and new markets, aiming to triple the volume of pre-export and trade financing next year.”
Chaizhunusov also highlighted a strong focus on reinsurance. In the second half of 2024 alone, the volume of reinsurance more than doubled, significantly reducing overall risk exposure.
Recently, KazakhExport launched the Exporter’s Personal Account, an online platform enabling local exporters to submit digital applications and negotiate contract terms. The project was implemented as part of the President’s directive to digitize government services at scale. This integrated approach significantly accelerates application processing, enhances communication efficiency, and minimizes time costs for exporters. All application stages are accessible at online.kazakhexport.kz and on the Agency’s main website www.kazakhexport.kz.
