From Production to Export: How Enterprises of the Turkistan Region Enter International Markets

As part of a press tour to the Turkistan region organized by the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA, a subsidiary of the "Baiterek" Holding), media representatives familiarized themselves with how state financial and insurance instruments help regional manufacturers scale up their shipments abroad.

During the first eight months of 2026, enterprises in the Turkistan region received support from ECA totaling 10 billion KZT. The main highlight of the press tour was the plant of "Zhasyl suyq Kazakhstan" LLP, a new client of the Agency specializing in the manufacturing of modern refrigeration and freezing equipment.

A distinctive feature of the enterprise is its full production cycle with a processing depth of up to 55%, while 50% to 60% of components are purchased from domestic suppliers, and the quality of finished products is strictly controlled in its own laboratory. Thanks to production growth and state support measures, the plant is demonstrating high development rates: whereas last year over 30,000 refrigeration cabinets were produced here, this year it is planned to manufacture between 50,000 and 60,000 units of equipment.

The plant's products are successfully exported to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. As noted by Abdilakim Gulbakhram, Financial Director of "Zhasyl suyq Kazakhstan" LLP, thanks to ECA's support, the export share has been increased from 20% to 30%, and the company plans to bring it up to 40%, enter the Transcaucasian markets, and expand supplies to non-CIS countries. Today, 350 people work at the plant, and after production expansion, the staff is planned to be increased to 400 employees.

The Export Credit Agency emphasizes that domestic manufacturers have access to about 25 support instruments, including pre-export financing and transaction insurance against non-payment risks. Enterprises can apply to ECA even at the delivery planning stage before signing a contract—the agency's specialists help verify the reliability of a potential foreign partner and select the optimal tool.

Nationwide, in the first 8 months of 2026, ECA supported 78 manufacturing enterprises totaling over 514 billion KZT, with small and medium-sized enterprises accounting for about 63% of recipients, and the aggregate economic effect from the provided measures exceeding 1.7 trillion KZT.
