ECA strengthens its role in developing industrial cooperation and expanding Kazakhstan's export opportunities.
JSC “Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan” (ECA) participated in the XXI Forum on Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, held in the city of Uralsk.
The main theme of the forum was the development of skilled trades as a key driver of sustainable economic growth.
During the plenary and sectional sessions, participants discussed prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of digitalization, transport and logistics, industry, and energy. Special attention was given to the formation of cooperative chains for creating high-tech jobs in the regions, training personnel for both atomic and traditional energy sectors, and the implementation of modern agrotechnologies.
Agriculture and deep processing of agricultural products were identified as priority areas of cooperation. Kazakhstan and Russia agreed on a joint action plan for the agro-industrial complex, which includes scientific and technological support for the sector, integration of veterinary and phytosanitary systems, as well as the creation of an agrobiotechnology park.
At the intergovernmental level, the initiative to develop joint deep-processing grain clusters was supported—not in the form of raw material exports, but through the production of high value-added products such as starch, protein concentrates, animal feed, and biochemical products. This direction also includes the development of meat and dairy clusters, processing of oilseed crops, and accelerated construction of modern greenhouse complexes.
During the meeting of the Russia-Kazakhstan Business Council, ECA’s Regional Director in the Republic of Tatarstan, Renat Kaliev, delivered a report emphasizing the strategic role of the Agency in supporting domestic manufacturers and developing industrial cooperation between the two countries:
“Today, the Export Credit Agency functions not just as a financial institution that insures export risks, but as a full-fledged mechanism for industrial and foreign economic development. ECA facilitates the entry of Kazakh enterprises into new markets, stimulates the creation of joint ventures, and forms sustainable supply chains for goods and services with added value. In today’s context, export is not only about delivering goods, but also about technology transfer, competency development, and industrial cooperation. Our goal is to provide Kazakh businesses with the tools to strengthen the country’s position in regional and global economic space,” he emphasized.
Within the framework of B2B meetings following the forum, a number of bilateral agreements were signed on key areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia. Among them was a memorandum of cooperation between Bolashak LLC (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) and KondiZ LLP (Abai Region, Kazakhstan) for the supply of food products under ECA’s insurance coverage.
The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, business circles, and industry associations from both countries. Following the forum, ECA issued a protocol regarding the visit of an importer, marking another step in strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
