New Products: ECA Seminar for Exporters at the ICBC "Khorgos"
Almas Kalkaev, Director of the Almaty office of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA), held a seminar for regional entrepreneurs. The event took place at the International Center for Border Cooperation (ICBC) “Khorgos” and focused on new support mechanisms for exporters.
The seminar was attended by representatives of over twenty leading enterprises from various sectors, including logistics, the agro-industrial complex, light industry, and food production.
Presenting ECA products, Almas Kalkaev emphasized the newly introduced guarantee instruments. These new mechanisms significantly reduce risks for exporters when signing contracts and open up opportunities for participation in international tenders.
Since the beginning of this year, ECA has been providing guarantees as part of its export support measures. In particular, guarantees were issued to secure exporters' obligations to banks under a contract for the supply of plastic ear tags for cattle to Uzbekistan, as well as under a contract for the construction of sewer networks and new pumping stations in the same country.
A separate topic of discussion was pre-export financing, which allows companies to attract funds for purchasing raw materials, carrying out production operations, and preparing goods for subsequent export. Seminar participants emphasized the critical importance of uninterrupted financing to maintain production processes during export activities.
Summing up the meeting, Almas Kalkaev stressed the importance of continuously improving the system of support for domestic exporters:
“Our services are available to any enterprise planning to enter international markets. Every year, we expand our range of financial instruments, adapting them to current business needs and international trade requirements. Such events help us better understand our clients’ requests and respond promptly to emerging challenges in export operations.”
The event concluded with an active discussion, during which entrepreneurs were able to ask ECA representatives questions and receive consultations on their individual cases.
