Export Credit Agencies' Meeting on Claims and Recoveries Held in Ljubljana
Representatives of "Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan" JSC (ECA) participated in the International Meeting of Specialists on Claims and Recoveries in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The event was jointly organized by SID Bank and the Berne Union – the International Union of Export Credit and Investment Insurers.
The main goal of the event was to exchange experiences among Berne Union members on claims settlement, procedures for reviewing insured events, and forms of fraud.
During the meeting, participants were presented with statistics on insurance payments and recoveries by active Berne Union members over recent years. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing the impact of geopolitical events and projected key trends for 2025 on the export credit and investment insurance market, as well as issues of restructuring.
According to Ilyas Yermukhambetov, Director of ECA's Department for Insurance and Guarantee Payments, monitoring insurance payments in current market conditions requires special attention and in-depth analysis.
"Today's meeting provided us with a unique platform to update risk assessment methodologies for a more precise determination of counterparty credit ratings. We are convinced that the systemic consolidation of international cooperation in claims settlement and effective counteraction to fraudulent schemes is a critically important imperative for ensuring the stability and progressive development of the global export credit and investment insurance market, especially in conditions of geopolitical instability," noted I. Yermukhambetov.
In conclusion, ECA representatives held meetings with the heads of several export credit agencies and exim banks. Discussions focused on the development and strengthening of partnerships in claims settlement, including ECA of Kazakhstan's current insured events.
